What is meant by long-term ADHD management?

Long-term ADHD management is a journey—one that extends beyond immediate symptom relief to support every aspect of your well-being. Our comprehensive approach helps individuals with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) manage their symptoms.

Personalized, Ongoing Care

Managing ADHD is not a one-size-fits-all process. We tailor treatment plans to your unique needs, adjusting strategies as you or your loved one grow and life circumstances change. Our team regularly monitors progress and modifies care to ensure optimal results—whether that includes medication management, behavioral therapies, educational support, or practical skills coaching.

A Collaborative Partnership

We see long-term ADHD management as a partnership involving our healthcare professionals, you, your family, and, when needed, educators or other support systems. By working together, we address not only core ADHD symptoms—such as inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity—but also related challenges like academic struggles, low self-esteem, or coexisting conditions such as anxiety or depression.

Supporting Your Quality of Life

Our goal at Good Mood Day is to help you achieve your fullest potential and enjoy a high quality of life. We focus on consistent symptom control, building resilience, and equipping you with tools to minimize the impact of ADHD on daily activities.

How does ongoing support help individuals with ADHD?

At Good Mood Day, we understand that ongoing support is essential for individuals with ADHD to thrive. Our practice is dedicated to offering consistent guidance, structure, and encouragement to help our patients navigate the unique challenges associated with ADHD, such as difficulties with attention, organization, time management, and emotional regulation.

Through our personalized care, patients receive continuous support from our team of experienced healthcare professionals. Regular check-ins and follow-up appointments allow us to monitor progress, refine coping strategies, and celebrate each step forward. This consistent feedback not only helps our patients stay motivated and on track but also reduces the feelings of isolation or frustration that can occur with ADHD.

Our comprehensive approach also addresses coexisting conditions, such as anxiety or depression, which frequently accompany ADHD. By integrating support for these challenges, we ensure that every aspect of our patients’ mental health is cared for.

At Good Mood Day, we empower our patients to recognize their strengths, build self-confidence, and develop self-advocacy skills. We believe in celebrating every achievement, no matter how small, and providing the encouragement needed to build resilience. With ongoing support from our compassionate team, individuals with ADHD can better manage daily challenges and confidently work toward their personal goals.

What types of care are included in ADHD management plans?

ADHD is a complex condition that affects every individual differently. That’s why our ADHD management plans are comprehensive and personalized, designed to address the unique needs of each patient and their family.

Thorough Assessment & Ongoing Care
ADHD management begins with a detailed assessment by our healthcare professionals, followed by ongoing monitoring and regular check-ins to adjust the treatment plan as needed.

Behavioral Support
Behavioral therapy, including cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and parent training, is central to our approach. We help develop coping strategies and manage symptoms like impulsivity and inattention. For children, we work with parents and teachers for consistent support.

Medication Management
When appropriate, we prescribe and manage stimulant and non-stimulant medications such as methylphenidate, atomoxetine, and guanfacine. Regular follow-ups ensure the treatment is effective and side effects are monitored.

Educational Advocacy & Support
We assist families and schools in implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) or 504 plans, advocating for accommodations like extra test time or organizational support to help children succeed academically.

Psychoeducation & Family Guidance
We provide education to individuals and families, helping them understand ADHD, set expectations, and create strategies for success at home, school, and work.

Additional Support Services
Depending on needs, we may recommend occupational therapy, speech-language therapy, or ADHD coaching to enhance life skills and confidence.

Continued Partnership
Our multidisciplinary team provides regular follow-ups, adjusts care plans, and offers ongoing support, ensuring your long-term well-being.

How often are ADHD treatment plans reviewed or adjusted?

At Good Mood Day, we understand that ADHD treatment requires a personalized approach. After your initial diagnosis and treatment plan, which may include medication and behavioral therapy, our team schedules frequent follow-ups, typically every few weeks, to monitor progress, address side effects, and adjust the care plan for optimal effectiveness.

As treatment stabilizes, we may reduce the frequency of visits to every three to six months, depending on your unique needs, age, and any coexisting conditions. For children and adolescents, we collaborate with parents and teachers to ensure consistent progress at home and school.

Changes in symptoms or life events, such as starting a new school or changing jobs, may require a treatment plan review. At Good Mood Day, we encourage open communication and recommend structured ADHD treatment reviews at least twice a year, even when things are going well. Our goal is to support your well-being and help you thrive every step of the way.

How Is Long-Term ADHD Management and Support Customized for Each Individual at Good Mood Day?

At Good Mood Day, we understand that living with ADHD is a unique journey for every individual. That’s why our approach to long-term ADHD management and support is always tailored to you.

Personalized Assessment & Care Plans
Your care begins with a thorough, compassionate assessment by our Good Mood Day clinicians. Tulani Johnson, MS PA-C, DMSc, Kenneth Johnson III, MS Ed, Ragavan Mahadevan, MD, take time to understand your medical history, current symptoms, day-to-day challenges, lifestyle, and goals. This comprehensive evaluation allows us to create a treatment plan that’s as unique as you are, taking into account your age, any co-occurring conditions, your personal aspirations, and the support systems available to you.

Individualized Medication Management
If medication is part of your treatment, our medical team will work closely with you to find the most effective type and dosage. We know that everyone responds differently, so we monitor your progress through regular check-ins—making adjustments as needed and ensuring any side effects are addressed promptly. Our goal is to help you achieve stability and improvement with the least disruption to your life.

Therapies & Coaching That Fit You
We offer a range of evidence-based therapies, adapted to your needs. Some clients benefit most from cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) focused on building organizational skills and managing emotions. Others may find family counseling or targeted academic or workplace support helpful. We’re also dedicated to collaborating with schools, employers, and families whenever needed, working together to create environments where you can thrive.

Continuous, Compassionate Follow-Up
Your needs may change over time, and we’re here to make sure your care evolves with you. Regular follow-ups and open communication are central to our process. We listen to your feedback and use it to proactively adjust your care plan, ensuring your support stays relevant and effective. For more information, please contact us or book an appointment online.
